Inspiration Board #4: {1950's Glamor, Seafoam, Cherry}

One of my all time favorite style icons is Grace Kelly. Her royal wedding to the Prince of Monaco in 1956 was an international sensation, and has provided inspiration to many a stylish bride in the decades since. The inspiration board below is my interpretation of classic GK glamor. It's preppy meets princess, with a throwback to the 1950's. What do you think? Would Grace approve?

Love,

Follow Me on Twitter!!

So, I have been the last holdout among my friends to join Twitter. Why, you ask? Well, to be honest it felt a little narcissistic to think that people care what the heck I am doing every second...and then I remembered that I write a blog, and have a Facebook profile that I update regularly, so obviously I think that people care what I'm doing :) My bestie, @Kari_Roy, assures me that Twitter isn't all about telling people what you are up to--it's also about networking, meeting awesome new brides, and (of course) stalking celebs! Anyway, follow me on Twitter @MarissaMacLeod!

Love,

Inspiration Board #3 : {Gatsby with some sparkle}

I never really considered myself a "bling" girl, but recently I just cant help but be attracted to anything shiny. Now, I'm not planning on bedazzling the blog anytime soon, but I did create a little inspiration board to show of some of the little gems I have come across recently.

I think that bling can be done very wrong (Hello crazy princess bride with your rhinestone tiara!), and it can be done right. One of the best ways to show some tasteful sparkle is with an antique brooch. And while you're raiding grandmas jewelry box for your something borrowed, why don't you just think about bringing in some other elements from back in the day. Using inspirations like the Great Gatsby and Veronica Lake in Sullivan's Travels, I put together the following board.

Confessions of a Wedding Photography Stalker {Entry #2}

I was introduced to La Dolce Vita Studio by my very best friend in the whole wide world, Mrs. Kari Roy of Kee to Your Heart. Melanie, the female half of La Dolce Vita, is Kari's sister. She and her husband Brad fast became my favorite Florida wedding photographers. I love going through their blog and watching how fast they have grown, both in style and clientele, over the past two years or so. Not only are they fantastic photographers, but they are also two of the sweetest people that you will ever meet. I had the pleasure of working with them on a fantastic little project for Solutions Bridal at Bella Collina in Monte Verde, FL a few months ago. Watching them at work was truly eye opening, and further solidified in my mind what true artists they are. Below are a few of my favorite shots from their blog, but make sure to venture over yourself for more photographic goodness.

Unfortunately, my computer got the mother of all viruses last month. Being 6 years old, it had a good long life, and will be remembered fondly for getting me through my treacherous college years. Unfortunately, it's early retirement has forced me to forgo the purchase of the Mac I have been saving up for, in exchange for a more affordable HP...The good news is that I am now back in the bloggosphere, ready for more wedding fatasticness. I know you are excited. Please try and contain yourself. Look for more soon.

Love,
